I’ll ask you a question before moving on to our main topic:-“What is the first answer that strikes your mind whenever you hear of a person who is highly successful in business or his life?”
Well, the first answer in my case generally used to be:-“It might have been his Father’s business or principles, and he is just carrying on the legacy ahead without many efforts. Most probably, he isn’t the one who made the business reach onto such a great level.”
Is the answer that I mentioned above relatable to you too? Do you generally conclude the same?
However, one day, while I was watching Gaurav Taneja’s story on youtube, I realized that my perception wasn’t totally correct. Maybe, the answer that I generally had only applied to very few people.
So, What did I exactly conclude, and what was the lesson that I learned changed my whole perception forever?
Don’t worry! We will reach it soon.
Also, the lesson that I gained might change your perception as well.
Now, let’s dig deep into Gaurav Taneja’s life and obtain the real answer.
Gaurav Taneja’s Life Story in Brief
Gaurav Taneja, also known as the flying beast, was born in Kanpur city in India. He is currently a YouTuber, Vlogger, Nutritionist, and has also worked for 9+ years as a commercial airline pilot for Indigo and AirAsia airlines. However, according to his June 15 tweet, AirAsia suspended him due to several reasons and controversies, which we will discuss further.
The Story Behind His Pilot Career
Becoming a commercial airline pilot was Gaurav’s childhood dream. However, he didn’t persuade this career right after schooling and chose to graduate in civil engineering from IIT Kharagpur as his family wasn’t financially strong enough to support the aviation career.
Even after completing engineering, his dream was somehow alive in his soul. He felt like he still wanted to become a pilot, started chasing his childhood dream, and ended up fulfilling it.
His Controversy with AirAsia
Gaurav tweeted on June 14, 2020, that he has been suspended from AirAsia “for standing up for safe operations of an aircraft and its passengers.”
The issues he raised with the airlines were as follows:-
1. The airline made it a mandate for its pilots to achieve 98% of “Flap 3” landings to save approx 8 kgs of fuel. He further said that it wasn’t safe to follow the same in certain situations where “Flap full” landing was the safer option.
He also stated that the airline considered it a violation of SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) if the pilot didn’t achieve the target.
2. The second issue that Gaurav raised was that the airline didn’t follow any of the COVID-issued guidelines.
3. The third issue was the sick leave policy of the airline. Gaurav said that the airlines compensated for the holidays with the sick leaves of the pilots. What they did is that they reduced a holiday in exchange for sick leaves to make a profit out of manpower.
It came out to be a victory for him when two of the senior AirAsia executives got suspended for three months, but unfortunately, he too lost his pilot job.
Why Gaurav Taneja Started Competitive Bodybuilding
Salman Khan was an inspiration for him, and he started working out when he was in school. Ever since his teenage, he was one of the biggest and strongest guys in his friends’ circle.
During his college days, he used to lift a load of 180 kgs for squats and 200 kgs for a deadlift. Many people even asked whether he competed professionally, So Gaurav decided to try it once and consecutively won his first three shows. Since then, his bodybuilding journey has started.
How He Started His YouTube Journey
Gaurav had a keen interest in reading about bodybuilding and nutrition, and thus he had extensive knowledge of both fields. The gym in which he used to work out himself even removed him as he was providing free training to the gym members.
Further, Gaurav noticed that people had a lot of misconceptions and wrong information on bodybuilding. Thus, he made a Facebook page named FitMuscleTV, which busted all the myths about bodybuilding and taught all the right methods.
Gaurav then moved to youtube with the same channel name and same moto.
Since then, his youtube journey started, and he made three channels of his own named FitMuscleTV (Fitness channel), Flying Beast (Vlogging channel), and Rasbhari Ke Papa (Gaming channel).

2. Lack of Time is Just an Excuse
There is nothing known as a lack of time for our favorite Flying Beast. He works hard, provides time to his family, enjoys life, and stays fit. All of it because he does not believe in making excuses.
Excuses Don’t Work Unless You Do!
3. Nothing is Impossible
It might seem impossible for us to chase our side hustle along with our job, but it isn’t true. As I have said earlier, Gaurav used to manage his pilot job with youtube channels, which proves that it is possible.
It Always Seems Impossible Until It’s Done
4. Trust Yourself and Your Gut Feeling
Gaurav chased all of his dreams because he had trust in himself and his gut feeling. You would have heard him a lot saying that he does what his gut says is right.

3 Essential Lessons Directly From Flying Beast

During an interview with Gaurav Taneja in the Beerbiceps, Ranveer Allahbadia asked Gaurav about the three pieces of life advice he would like to give. They were as follows:-
1. Take Risks: If you are sure about any idea, don’t be afraid to take risks. If your gut feeling says that you want to do it, do it without any second thoughts.
2. Take some time out of your schedule: It is necessary to get out of your comfort zone and spend some time on your fitness.
3. Family time: The third piece of life advice that Gaurav gave is to increase the amount of time spent with family. Creating those bonds is essential in today’s world.
Conclusion
It is no doubt that the Flying Beast, aka Gaurav Taneja, is an amazing self-made personality who has achieved it all through a massive amount of hard work.
Also, it is now clear to me that the people who are highly successful in their lives have made sacrifices. They did it all because of their hard work and strict work ethics.
However, one more undeniable fact is that it becomes easier for us to justify our laziness and lack of hard work by simply saying that the other person did nothing and got it all.
Always remember, it is more difficult to stay constant on the top as compared to reaching the top.
