Editorial Process
Goal
Our editorial process aims to produce premium quality articles that provide valuable insights, perspective, and actionable advice to our readers seeking self-improvement and better relationships.
We create factual, well-researched, engaging, and highly relevant content for our audience. Our process ensures consistency, high standards, and search and user experience optimization.
Content Ideation
Potential article topics are gathered from:
- Editorial calendar planned monthly based on audience interests and seasonal trends.
- Direct requests from readers and social media followers.
- Trending themes and current events related to the self-help space.
- Writer pitches based on areas of expertise and unique perspectives.
- Brainstorming meetings among editors, writers, and founder.
Assignment Process
Chosen articles are assigned to writers by the assigning editor based on expertise, availability, and capacity.
Assignments include specific angles, research requirements, suggested sources, due dates, and special formatting guidelines. Writers are given at least 5 days for submission.
Research Phase
Writers conduct in-depth research for each piece, leveraging resources like scientific studies, expert interviews, university publications, nonprofit data, and high-authority websites.
All key facts, statistics, quotes, and intellectual property require proper attribution and linking to original sources.
Writing & Drafting
Our conversational yet authoritative tone reflects our branding. Articles take a first-person perspective focused on actionable advice. Drafts follow our style guide on formatting, spelling, tone, point-of-view, and sentence structure. Readability scores must exceed 60.
Submission Process
Initial drafts are submitted directly to the assigning editor through Google Docs. The system tracks version history and reviewer comments.
Reviewing & Fact-Checking
The assigning editor thoroughly reviews the submission against quality standards and checks facts, sources, quotes, and statistics for accuracy and attribution. Any unsatisfactory items get flagged for revision.
Editing & Revisions
Editors provide revision requests focused on structure, clarity, length, style, and quality of information.
Writers have 3 days to resubmit updated versions. Articles typically undergo 2-3 rounds of editing before final approval.
Standards Review
Before publishing, all articles are reviewed for copyright issues, trademark infringement, or plagiarism (less than 5% similarity allowed).
Final Approval & Publication
Editors give final approval and schedule articles on our editorial calendar. Approved drafts are sent to production for formatting, images, layout, metadata, and headlines. Published pieces are indexed for search.
