Stuck in a date night rut? You’re not alone!

My partner, Ankit, and I were experts at “Netflix and PJ’s” nights. Fancy, right?

We decided it was time for a change. No more dinners where the most exciting choice was “white or brown rice?” 😂

So we tried new things. We laughed, we had fun, and we only got lost twice. Success!

Just like us, do you want to add some excitement to your relationship too? If so, you must try these 13 exciting couple date ideas.

And make sure to read the list till the end. You’ll definitely find a new favorite way to spend time together!

1. Make Ice Cream/Beverages Together.

If you don’t feel like going out, you can stay indoors and make each other’s favorite ice cream or cold drinks via YouTube tutorials.

Taste each other’s creations to see who won the game, but do not get too critical. You don’t want to spoil the mood.

I’d suggest you pick out a common favorite item to make it together or choose different mix-ins for unique flavors. Tune in some music in the background, chat, and enjoy the time with your partner.

2. Go To a Dog Park and Pet the Fluffy Creatures

Since Ankit and I are dog lovers, we considered visiting a dog park to make a few furry friends. It was great having fun with sweet, adorable puppies, getting snaps clicked with them, and enjoying their antics.

We had even packed some dog-friendly food items to gift our furry friends. This date filled our hearts, and we will surely do it again. What about you?

3. Try Wine Tasting Together

Ankit has a small bar in his home. Recently, we decided on a day to taste different wines together in his bar. It was a new try and turned out to be quite good. We have been planning to have one such session soon.

Do you guys love tasting different wines? If so, you must give this idea a try. Go for something new or unconventional to make the date more interesting. If you plan to go outside, consider visiting a new place to try some new wines.

4. Go on a Bike Tour Through Your City

If you can handle the sweaty wind outside, consider going for a bike tour in the city with your partner.

You might plan it in the evening because evenings often have pleasant winds blowing from the south, which can relax your mind.

A few days back, Ankit and I went for a bike ride. We were out for over an hour and went to our favorite places, stopped in between, clicked pictures, and had cold drinks from our favorite shop. We returned home with a happy mind and had a wonderful, peaceful sleep that night.

5. Have a Sandcastle-building Competition

Are you guys into sweaty adventures? If yes, how about executing a sandcastle-building competition?

Oh no, don’t be worried. I’m not asking you to book your tickets to the Maldives. Simply go to the backyard with your sandbox, shovel, etc. After you’re ready with all the equipment, I’d suggest choosing a theme.

Then, set a timer for the competition and get ahead with your creations. Don’t forget to mention in the comments which one turned out to be more good-looking and who finished it first!

6. Wake up Early & Go On a Morning Walk Together.

Going for a morning walk together early is the best idea if you want to try a date idea that’s simple yet thoughtful.

No noise, no decorative dresses, serene weather, and just the two of you walking along the park or the streets.

Want to sweeten things up a bit? Greet your partner with a forehead kiss. When you start the day positively, I’m sure the rest of the day will be peaceful.

7. Have Another Couple Come Over For a Double Date.

If you want to add some extra flavor to your romantic date and don’t mind sharing the fantastic time with other people, asking your favorite couple to come over could be a great idea.

You could either stay indoors, cook or order something, listen to music, and watch movies. Or, you guys can go out on your favorite cruise, order the most delicious items, and have a lovely time over humorous conversations, selfies, and gossip.

8. Take a Cooking Class Together.

Well, it’s a great idea to fit into your apron and get ready for a cooking class with your partner on a sweet evening.

You might join an offline or online class (I’d have joined online, as I hate going out 😂). Discuss with your man/lady which cuisine you would like to learn.

The class would be fun if both of you were amateurs. And, if you’ve had decent cooking experience, it could be a productive session. Whatever it is, you’ll have a memorable evening.

9. Go For a Long Drive in Your Car.

If either of you can drive, a long drive could be a romantic date idea. Turn on the AC, listen to your favorite music, and enjoy bliss! Just the two of you, one’s head on the other’s shoulder, little cuddles in between, and cute conversations.

You can carry some home-cooked food, pause the journey for some time, have lunch together, and then drive again.

Simple… Yet, this beautiful idea is best for two love birds to spend quality time together.

10. A Rooftop Music Night.

If either of you is a good singer, you should give this idea a try.

You could decorate your rooftop with some balloons and a small sitting set-up. The singer gets prepared with a guitar or any other musical instrument. And then begins the music night.

Your partner starts playing your favorite tunes, and you listen in amazement. You click pictures of your little concert, capture videos, and even join them in the singing.

This low-key idea could turn out to be one of the best dates you had in your life.

11. Visit a Library or a Book Cafe.

Well, if you are a bibliophile, there’s no better idea than visiting the library and reading.

Book cafes are getting popular these days. Why not try one of them? You can pick a book from your favorite section, choose a comfortable place to sit, order some coffee or tea, and have a wonderful time ahead!

Two lovers engrossed in a thriller/romantic comedy/horror/science fiction, discussing the plot with each other and enjoying the aromatic flavors of the beverage.

12. Watch the Sunset Together.

A warm, hectic day calls for a calm climax. How about ending your day watching the sunset together with your partner by your side?

Go to your rooftop, your garden, the poolside, or any place you are comfortable in. Hold each other’s hands, rest your shoulder on the other, and see the sun fading away slowly amidst the clouds. See the birds chirp around as they return to their nests, and darkness slowly takes over.

As you sit and watch the sunset, don’t forget to share how your day went. And follow it up with a kiss.

13. How About Video Games?

Are both of you into games? Do you keep all the latest updates about the latest models and innovations? If yes, that is the funniest and most exciting date idea you could think of.

You could visit a gaming parlor. Or, if you have the game room in either of your homes, that’s awesome! Grab some snacks and hang in for some wholesome video game sessions.

Play tournaments and big matches, tease each other and enjoy every bit of it.
