You guys have been talking for a while, and now, finally planning your first date? Aww, how awesome is that! 🤗 I can imagine the excitement inside you when you meet them in person.

Have you thought about any place yet? What do I do, how do I go about it, and everything else? No? Worry not; I’m here to help.

First dates are so damn important; it could either be a big turn-on or a huge turn-off in deciding if you’re having a second date. So, it’s better to keep it cute and simple.

In this blog, I’ll share a list of my 15 favorite first date ideas that have helped me out a lot during my dating phase. It would surely help you understand and connect with your date really well.

Let’s begin.

What To Do On First Date? 15 Perfect Activities

1. A Lunch Date

It’s just the first meeting, and you might not want to do something extravagant.

So, the simplest idea would be to go for a lunch date in a restaurant of your choice. You get to talk and learn a lot about each other over some mouth-watering delicacies. And don’t judge me for saying this, but you get a glimpse of their table manners, too. 🤭

If both of you are into themes and decorations, I’d suggest choosing a rooftop café for the day out. And if you solely wish to focus on food and talks, any standard outlet will do!

2. Visit the Place Where You First Saw Each Other

Where did your eyes meet for the first time? From where did it all start? The university campus? The street food outlet? The store down the road? Wherever it was, you could plan a date in the place where you first saw each other.

I had my first date with my lover Ankit in the university complex. Hopefully, none of our professors are reading this blog. 🙂

It will give you a sweet ride down the memory lane, and you can gossip and laugh over how things have taken a sweet turn since then. Don’t forget to take some pictures; a treasure to the bond in making!

If you guys are into sweets, visiting a renowned Donut Shop is a great idea. Choose different flavors for each other and taste each to find out which one is better! Who knows this donut shop date might turn out to be the stepping stone to something everlasting.

Okay okay, let’s not predict much. As of now, focus on choosing a nice shop and a good time of the day when you two can sit, eat, and have some cute conversations. You can also go to an ice cream parlor too or even a taco shop. (Choose based on your interest)

You guys can catch up over coffee and engage in a super exciting rapid-fire game. All straightforward questions with honest answers. It’s a great way to kickstart your dating life and understand what the other person wants out of this in the long run.

I always believe direct talks are better than trying to find out on your own. Ask them why they are into you, what they expect from this, and any other queries you might have. And finally when you’re done discussing the serious stuff, you can ask some casual questions.

Honestly, to know a person well, you need to spend more time together. If you guys vibe well, you might plan an entire day out with each other. Isn’t that a fabulous opportunity to observe them closely and decide whether you’ll go out with them again?

You could start the day by shopping, visiting a bookstore, reading, or a gaming house. Then, it’s time to feed your stomach and follow it up with a walk or a drive before you reach home. Lots of time to talk, smile, and understand how well you vibe beyond the screen.

I had gone to an escape in one of my early dates with Ankit and trust me when I say this, it was filled with thrills and chills. 😂 We had so much fun that day that I almost made up my mind to give my best efforts into turning this dating phase into a loving relationship

8. Visit an Amusement Park

If both of you are into adventure and don’t mind showcasing your respective adventurous sides to each other on the first date, then book your tickets to an amusement park.

Treat yourself to some super cool rides, games, and skating experiences. This way you get to know how much your date is matching your energy level and whether both of you belong to the same enthusiasm group!

If this works out well, I’m pretty sure you two will have multiple dates lined up in the future. Finding someone with the same enthusiasm level as yours is a top-tier green flag energy, don’t you think so?

It could be an outdoor game like tennis or an indoor adventure too with a classic chess match. Not bad to start something beautiful with some little competition, isn’t it?

Finding someone with the same sports interest as yours is rare. So if you have found one, I think you must utilize the opportunity to the fullest.

A game day would mean fun, sweat, challenges, and so much more. You will not have to go through the usual awkward silence on first dates; the conversation will be spontaneously flowing.

Well, it goes like this. You choose a place where they haven’t been before, they come and you go around together and you guide them all along; which thing to watch, what to try, where to pose and click a picture, and many more.

Similarly, they can be your guide too where they help you explore a new place. Either way, it will be about spending some good time together.

In case you guys are real book nerds, having a reading session on is a perfect idea. Book cafes are in demand. You might go to one or choose a library and read a novel by your favorite author.

Wanna take my suggestion? Go for a romance novel. But that’s your choice; thrillers or science fiction are amazing too. As you finish reading, you can have a serious discussion with each other about how the plot went, the previous books of the author, and so on.

Starting with this, I feel, you’ll form a great bond going ahead.

A very interesting first date idea would be to explore places in the city that neither of you had visited earlier. Don’t go too far though, a moderate-distance location is fine.

As you walk along the unknown lane, you share your perspectives, find unique insights about the place, and have a wholesome experience after all. I’d suggest carrying some food that you can eat.

Be there on time and spend a few hours exploring the interesting models, lectures and creativities put forward by the participants. You can even buy something from each other from the exhibition and capture mini videos and photos on the go.

As you come out of the hall, treat yourselves to some favorite beverage or food. That way, you get to spend some extra time with each other and maybe have a quick chat on where to go on the next outing.
