How to raise your vibrations

Isn’t it ironic that when I chose to write this blog, I was dealing with a bad tarot card reading, which means that my own vibrations were off?

Oh God, the heaviness in my heart is unexplainable. 

And before you ask, yes! I do believe in readings. I do believe in energy. I do believe in predictions.

When you go through times you did not plan on going through, suddenly, you become a believer. 

So many times in life, we think to ourselves, “Ugh. Why am I feeling so low? What is wrong with me?” Or sometimes, when we enter a place, our heart sinks. Other times, when we see someone, we can feel our insides getting warm with love. 

You know whom to give the credit for this? Vibrations. 

Why do you think we feel serenity in holy places but get goosebumps and a bad feeling in graveyards? Vibrations.

Why do you think we feel homely at some places but feel like someone is trying to push us out at others? Vibrations!

It’s all science. Everything in this universe is a vibration. Every cell in our body vibrates, and every human is a vibration.

So, how do you master those vibrations? Well, it’s time to know the 11 ways through which you can raise your vibration.

1. Do Some Exercise, Get Moving!

I can never stress this enough. You know, sometimes, I was so anxious after waking up that I just could not bring myself to make it out of bed. Absolutely impossible, if I must add.

The worst part? I gave in every time and stayed there. I thought this would help my anxiety, but I was wrong. I was actually working towards feeling more anxious.

You see, exercise releases neurochemicals like endorphins, serotonin, and dopamine, which help make you happy and, as a result, raise your vibrations. It boosts your mood and enables you to relax.

Conversely, if you don’t exercise, hormones like adrenaline and cortisol increase exponentially, which promotes feelings of anxiety and stress.

So move, no matter what. Movement helps increase your vibration frequency and makes you feel more optimistic. 

2. Block the Chain of Negative Thoughts.

Remember when I said the tarot card reading turned me off? You know why?

Well, I sat through the tarot reading with courage, but then I started overthinking and spiraling about whatever my tarot reader said. I absolutely believed that my life was doomed without considering that the readings depended on my current vibration.

Here’s where I took things into my hands. I broke the chain of thoughts.

Rather than giving in to the negative thoughts, I started taking deep breaths and telling myself that it was going to be okay. I am better than this. I have achieved so much, and I will achieve even more.

I reminded myself of my blessings: the people who love and support me and the job opportunities that I have. 

Hear this one. You manifest what you believe in.

Break the chain of thoughts.

Think positive.

Not only will your vibration frequency increase, but you will also be joyous. 

3. Be Creative.

Dance. Sing. Paint. Doodle. Craft. Cook. Write.

Just let your energy flow.

Whenever you express your inner self through creative activities, you bring more joy, satisfaction, and a sense of well-being into your life.

Every action you take throughout the day is an opportunity for creativity. Introducing a new idea, a process, or a practice into your life is a form of creativity!

Being joyous is literally in your hands!

You just need to do it deliberately.

4. Touch Grass! (Pls)

I have never been this accepting in my life before, ever. I am a sloth. The most unhinged and indoors woman you’ll ever meet.

But then… I realized that this whole persona is only giving me DEPRESSION!

I know, I know, we do not like going out much. I am the flag bearer for this. But trust me, so many times have I spent an entire day in bed and suddenly decided to go out for a walk, and it made me more energized than ever. 

Go for a walk, plan a trip occasionally, and meet up with friends. I assure you, you will feel your vibrations increase. That energy, those moments, will only help you release all the happy neurochemicals. You need to change your surroundings frequently and stay occupied.

5. Learn the Art of Forgiveness.

I know. I am a scorpion, and it doesn’t get any worse than that when it comes to forgiving.

But guess what? You need to realize one thing: if you don’t let go of the people who hurt you, they won’t let go of your mind.

Your vibration is the energy you surround yourself with.

You need to realize that all of us have been hurt by someone or the other. If we stay in the same place, waiting for an apology, closure, or even plot our revenge, we fail to understand that we’re attracting negative energy our way.

They harmed and left. You suffered and are still choosing to suffer further by not deciding not to let go, thinking about it, and praying ill.

We do not realize that our thoughts constitute our vibration.

Forgive.

Move on.

Let Karma do its job.

Save your energy.

Increase your vibration by telling yourself that you are not what you suffered. You will not be defined by the people who put you through hurt!

6. Clear. 👏 Out. 👏 The. 👏 Clutter. 👏

If you’re a cleaning frantic, well, slow down.

If you’re the hoarder, well, GEAR UP.

See, excess of anything is bad. Stressing too much about something will always hamper your vibration. You need to find a way to be moderate.

I kid you not; I have always been the hoarder. I made a mess of my room—a well-organized mess. I always knew where’s what. 

But as time passed, something changed in me…

I can guarantee that once you start keeping your surroundings clean, a voice inside will say, “I am proud of you!”

Clean the mess, then spend a few moments standing still and appreciating what you have done.

It will increase your vibrations because you will get instant results from your actions.

Always remember: Our mind is a reflection of our surroundings. The messier it is on the outside, the messier it will be on the inside, and vice-versa.

So, declutter. 

7. Nourish Your Body.

Remember how agitated and irritated we all felt when our mothers would tell us, “Eat only home-cooked meals!

Well, adulting is hard because you face the weight of all your mother’s lessons.

The times when I consumed a lot of processed or outside food, I’d feel super low, and my cravings kept increasing.

Proper nutrition and hydration are crucial for maintaining a smooth flow in your life.

Consuming processed foods often leads to feelings of heaviness, bloating, and fatigue, resulting in a very low vibe. Additionally, insufficient water intake deprives your body of the energy it needs to function effectively.

Conversely, eating whole, plant-based foods and ensuring you drink enough water helps you feel light and energetic.

So, be mindful of what you eat. Add a lot of fruits and vegetables to your diet. Drink water.

No, you don’t have to give up eating outside food altogether; you just need to learn to maintain a balance.

8. Ummm… What’s That Fragrance?

Well, that fragrance is here to lift your mood and raise your vibration, and it is called aromatherapy. 

There is a reason why you’d see scented candles and incense sticks around people who believe in spirituality.

Aromatherapy is an ancient healing practice that uses scents, typically essential oils, to enhance health and well-being. We can also raise our vibrations through it.

For instance, lavender, a popular and my personal favorite scent is known for its relaxation and stress-relieving properties. I’ve also read that certain peppermint or citrus smells help increase your vibration by giving you a more positive mood.

9. Practice Meditation.

Meditation isn’t just a word! It is one of the most difficult practices that exist.

Meditation is what differentiates people who have it all sorted from those who are always tense.

I read a fact that our brain consumes 20% of our energy.

Now, do you think our energies won’t be affected if we don’t give our brain a single minute to relax and keep overflowing our thoughts?

Nobody is asking you to be a saint. I know, meditation is easier said than done.

But make it a practice to sit with your eyes closed and focus on your breathing for at least 5 minutes daily. Slowly, increase these five minutes to ten and so on. 

Meditation is the only true way to connect with your higher self.

Give yourself a few minutes of peace in a day and see your vibration rise more than you aimed for.

10. What’s Kept in Gratitude?

Inner-peace. Often, while counting things that have gone wrong for us, we forget what went right.

The story I will share is really personal, but it best explains what gratitude is.

I was once in a holy place with my friend. He asked me: “What do you do when you come here?”

I was taken aback by this question because who would think of answering questions in a holy place?

I simply replied: pray and ask.

What my friend said next changed my life.

He said, “When you enter this place, first you should be grateful for whatever you have and thank God. The second thing is to ask for strength and courage for whatever is to come.”

That day, my perspective completely changed.

I started counting my blessings whenever I felt low in life, and it really helped me keep my vibration in check.

So, here’s the thing: Don’t be unrealistic or feel you can never have low vibrations. You will.

But how long you are stuck there, feeling anxious and letting stress build up, is up to you.

Choose to be grateful every single day.

Thank the universe for giving you another day to live.

Go to bed by writing down everything you felt grateful for that day.

You’ll see a sudden rise in your vibrations over a period of time.

11. Have a Routine.

When I left my job to pursue my dreams, I thought I was among the 1% of the population ready to risk it all without certainty.

I. WAS. WRONG.

Taking a risk doesn’t define everything.

What defines you is how well you maintain your each day.

Every day, I woke up clueless as to what to do next. I got comfortable in my own space, in my own timelines, in my own world.

This was causing more harm than good.

That’s when I realized the power of having a daily routine.

Even if it is as simple as waking up, making coffee or tea, setting your bed, jotting down things that’ll help your work, giving time to reading, movements, meditation, or just anything you can do in a day, make a list and DO IT.

Follow-up email? ✅

Calling mother? ✅

Dancing? ✅

No matter what, list the simplest tasks and do them.

We humans tend to feel good about completion. When we see ourselves achieving things daily, it raises our vibration, and we trust ourselves more.

Every day, ask yourself how much more deeply I can connect with myself today.

Give yourself new tasks.

Trust me, you’ll feel so much better.

In Conclusion

Raising your vibration in simpler terms just means giving yourself more positives than negatives.

You are what you surround yourself with.

The energies around you will have a direct impact on you. This is why parents always say, “Choose your tribe to vibe smartly.”

Don’t give into gossiping about someone so much that its after-affects linger on your energies. Learn to be kind.

You will only be able to raise your vibration if you’re self-aware.

Not everything works for everyone. You must sit with yourself and realize what brings out your positivity, wards off the negativity, and makes you more confident.

The day we realize that raising your vibration is a way to self-love and live the best life, it will be over for a lot of people!
